I have also been attracted towards this wonder box. For many a days I kept myself away, from this treasure of knowledge and wonderful medium of communication, but could not resist any more.
Now when I started surfing through it I found that LAKHS of people have created their own WEBS and are writing BLOGS expressing their independent views on various subjects of their liking. So I also decided to join this main stream, rather this OCEAN of THOUGHTS & KNOWLEDGE at my this age of SEVENTY.
I know my blog will be like a small drop in this large OCEAN of knowledge and what to say of liking it I do not know whether it will be noticed by anybody at all or not .
whatever may be the result I am writing with the HOPE that" SOME ONE MAY BOTHER".
Therefore without going into further modesties I TAKE YOUR PERMISSION TO START WRITING my views about WORLD BEAUTIFUL spread around us.
" WATT WRIKHYA", or BANYAN TREE as it is called in English, I have chosen as a main heading or the NAME OF MY BLOG.
Why" WATT WRIKHYA".
All of us know that all TREES have one TRUNK or STEM from which many branches grow in various directions around that trunk. All of these branches along with their main trunk form the whole tree. The beauty of the tree lies in its wholeness which includes right from its roots, trunk, branches, leaves, buds, flowers, fruits and ultimately its seeds. whole tree is standing on its one and only one trunk. Whole tree is being nurtured through its one and only one trunk. In other words the whole tree is depending on its one soul trunk. if due to any reason this trunk is harmed then whole of the tree is harmed automatically in due course of time.
But there is one tree which is an exception to this principle of one or single trunk for a tree.
The" WATT WRIKHYA" or a BANYAN TREE.
Like other trees the branches of this tree also grow from its original trunk in all directions around it, but the beauty or specialty of this tree lies in the special quality or the unique ability of the branches of this tree. The branches of this tree apart from growing new branches from them also start growing new roots in due course of time. We find many beautiful and brown bunches of roots hanging from the branches of this tree which gradually reach down to mother EARTH and then penetrate the crest of earth. Now these roots make their own way deep inside the Earth in search of nourishment for whole of the tree. Gradually every bunch of roots turns itself into a new and additional trunk for its parent tree. In this way we find that the "Watt Wrikhya" goes on expending itself in all directions around its original trunk on the support of its new and additional trunks. These all trunks, apart from supporting the whole tree, also provide nourishment to whole of the tree.
SO THIS TREE IS NOT STANDING ON ONE OR SINGLE TRUNK like other trees BUT STANDS ON VARIOUS NEW & ADDITIONAL TRUNKS GROWN FROM ITSELF ON ITS OWN.
These many supports become additional source of nourishment for the whole tree, resulting in longer life with larger covered area. With its larger bulk & size this tree provides shade and shelter to larger number of humans, animals & birds for a much much longer period. With the larger number of its new & additional trunks, this tree gives extra binding force to mother Earth.
What a beautiful example of unity and cooperation, this tree is showing to whole of the world.
We can learn some lessons from this tree.
